Information Meetings
Adoption Information Meetings are both free of charge and
without obligation. They are held throughout the state of
Minnesota.
Meetings are approximately 2
hours long and present information on our agency, the adoption
process and the specific adoption programs. You are encouraged
to ask any questions you may have. Please check the Information
Meeting link for the nearest meeting location.
Pre-Adoption Education Seminars
All prospective adoptive parents are asked to attend the
Adoption Training Workshop prior to the completion of the
Adoption Study. The workshop is an integral part of the Adoption
Study process. The goal is to provide families with information
to better prepare them to parent children through adoption. The
workshops cover topics such as Attachment, Grief & Loss,
Institutionalization, Cross Cultural Issues and Open Adoption.
Included is a panel presentation composed of adoptive parents,
adopted adults and birth parents. Please check the Pre-Adoption
Education Seminars link for the nearest meeting location.
Post Adoption Workshops/Speakers/Seminars
LSS offers a broad range of post adoption services for adoptive
parents, adopted adults and/or birth parents including support
groups and trainings. Families are invited to attend topical
speakers and/or seminars as their schedules permit or their
interest dictates. Please check the above Post Adoption
Workshops/Speakers/Seminars link for more information on
upcoming events and seminars offered from our post-adoption
services.
